Migration in progress
by David Kowis on Aug.05, 2009, under Uncategorized
Sorry if stuff is broken, not that anyone really reads this.
I yanked wordpress over to my “migration server” whilst I’m in the process of updating the site. I need to add a redirect for the source mage fallback. Although, a 404 will allow it to go onto the next fallback.
Tomorrow my cpu coolers arrive and the thing gets put together, at least I hope so. It might not get put together as I’ve got things to do in real life.
Government never shrinks
by David Kowis on Apr.06, 2009, under Uncategorized
It’s been a while since I posted something.
I recently read an opinion article from the Wall Street Journal written by Stuart Varny, who is apparently a host on the Fox Business Channel. The article was linked off of Drudge Report, which seems to have a fairly unbiased selection of news. Now I’m not usually one to take anything, without a grain of salt, that comes from the Fox “News” network, but this opinion does hit rather close to home. Unfortunately, it solely targets the “Left.” That is insufficient. The “Right” was doing the exact same thing only months ago. Fox news wasn’t complaining about it then, or perhaps they didn’t want to complain, since it was “thier” side that was doing it.
Regardless of Fox’s reasoning, truth is still true. The government likely does want to maintain control over these banks. It will make it easier for them to enact whatever plan they want.
I can’t remember the movie from which this quote is from:
“You remember the golden rule; He who controls the gold, makes the rules.”
(I think it was some disney movie, because I remember a creepy looking cartoon guy with a nasty grin…)
Turns out comments were broke!
by David Kowis on Mar.09, 2009, under Uncategorized
A friend of mine that I haven’t heard from in forever sent me an email telling me that comment posting was broken on my website. How about that?
The problem was with Admin-SSL attempting to SSL encrypt when you went to post a comment. Disabling that one part of it makes everything happy again.
Legos + freetime = This!

Whilst waiting on my laptop to restructure it’s harddrive, I noticed my thing of legos. I started building something. Eventually this ended up and I felt that it was completed.
The year man-made global warming was disproved

2008 was the year man-made global warming was disproved
I never quite bought into the entire “global warming” thing. Sure, maybe the climate was changing some. It happens. Did we (humans) cause it in its entirety? Probably not. Are we another factor in a system so insanely huge that we don’t have any accurate models at all yet? Yep. Ever hear of the butterfly effect? That’s us, in the grand scheme of things.
Whilst it is good to take care of the planet we live on, things must be done within reason. We borrow our plante from our decendents, lets take care of it. Use common sense, don’t litter, take care of your vehicle. If you don’t need a hummer, don’t buy a hummer. Lets get more nuclear plants, those wind powered things just aren’t going to cut it. These are all reasonable steps in the right direction.
